Key Activities

Three core programs driving environmental impact in our community

🔬

Research Connections

We connect talented local teens with structured research opportunities at a variety of organizations, from local environmental non-profits to major federal agencies like NOAA programs.

Research opportunities include the chance to collect data and measure progress on local and national environmental indicators, such as those published by the Princeton Climate Action Plan. On the national level, research can involve working with experts in the field to participate in citizen science projects. Green Teen Force will provide resources and guidance in order to pursue these oppurtunities at programs through NOAA, as well as local organizations like Sustainable Princeton, The Watershed Institute, and more!

💼

Supporting Local Businesses

We aim to work with local small businesses to help them in implementing sustainable practices and market their "Green Commitment" to the community by raising awareness about the various incentives offered at local, state, and federal level.

Small businesses form the backbone of our communities, and they cannot be left behind the journey towards a greener world. That's why Green Teen Force is pioneering a unique program to support local businesses in their green journey. Green Teen Force will help connect businesses with incentives and offer support when it comes to implementing business sustainability pratices such as setting up composting bins and creating digital menus.

🌳

Volunteer Task Force

We connect with local environmental organizations to enable volunteering oppurtunities for teens to engage the broader community with sustainable practices such as tree planting and recycling.

Green Teen Force will connect teens with volunteer opportunities in the area based on their interests. This can include volunteering at events such as recycling drives and sustainability expos, conservation projects like trail cleanups and invasive species monitoring, and local stream clean ups. Organizations include Herrontown Woods and Friends of Princeton Open Space, and activities are available year-round to varying age groups.
